Just when one reads about the new solar energy farm setting up in Northern Ireland in comes news of the potential hazards of solar plants.
The world's largest solar power plant located in the Mojave desert in the USA is reportedly scorching birds as they fly over because of the soaring air temperatures it produces as a by-product.
This is according to wildlife experts.
It's unlikely that the new solar farm located in Co. Down will be generating the same high air temperatures as at the Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating system in the Mojave Desert on the California/ Nevada border.
But it just goes to show that there are downsides to every technology it would seem.
