A farm walk was held at the 4 unit farm of Patrick Gribben in Tullysaran in the second last week of June.
The farm walk was jointly organised by Sylvan Ireland and Northway Mushrooms. It was a well attended event focussing on the technical aspects of the filling schedule and the case run.
Subsequent to the farm walk, talks were given in An Portmor hotel in Blackwatertown. Sylvan's Brendan Burns gave an overview of conditions in the UK marketplace at present and Cathal Ellis of the Horticultural Advisory Team spoke on the ins and outs of benchmarking.
Benchmarking could be an important tool in assisting growers improve their business management.
