Stalker noticed that UK PM David Cameron was treated to Creamy Mushroom Soup as part of a Chinese feast on his visit to that country.
It was the hors d'oeuvre for lunch, followed by bamboo fungus and green vegetables.
The Chinese sure like their mushrooms - there was bamboo fungus soup for the dinner that evening too. Let's hope Mr Cameron enjoyed the mushroomy meals.
He fared better than An Taoiseach Enda Kenny who was also out east in Japan, plugging Irish businesses and beef. One of the main dishes he was treated to was fugu, the ultra poisonous blowfish.
As one wag suggested, he might have been tempted to say fugu to his hosts.
