Stalker was saddened to hear the news of the passing of Brendan Donnelly last month, November 4th, at the age of 72.
Brendan was one of the old guard of the mushroom industry who started at the mushrooms before 1966.
He was growing mushrooms on the farm at Drumsallon crossroads for many's a year. More recently Brendan had enlisted the help of his daughter Elaine and son Edward in the running of the mushroom farm.
Brendan was regarded a true gentleman within the industry and also regarded as extremely hard-working. He attended many meetings and workshops over the years, and was always ready to help fellow industry workers and colleagues with any knowledge he had accumulated over the years.
When Brendan started off, growing was in small boxes, then it moved on to big boxes; it was a hard graft. Brendan is survived by his wife Mary.
