There was an on- farm biomass workshop on benefits of biomass heating conducted by Cathal Ellis , the Renewable Energy Technologist from Cafre’s Greenmount Campus, at the start of October.
The workshop which explored the benefits of heating with biomass and the Renewable Heat Incentives (RHI) for farms and rural businesses was held on the farm of Tom Hegan on Thursday 3rd of October.
There were a lot of trade stands at the event too, primarily biomass boiler agents. Cafre are also holding their annual Practical On –Farm Renewable energy event on 29th October at the Greenmount campus. It provides practical information on renewable energy options for farmers and the rural sector.
The event includes seminars, tours of the college facilities and a trade show involving over 50 local companies.
