There were a couple of tickets up for grabs at Reen for the All Ireland Hurling final, after top man Paddy McArdle correctly predicted the finalists for the Hurling match in the Sylvan prediction competition.
The tickets were drawn for among all the employees at Reen, and who should scoop them but Tipperary native Eamon Long, the expert compost manager.
So it was that Eamon got to go to the big match; he had a fabulous day out at Croke Park, along with his three young sons. Post match all of them were cock-a-hoop; not surprising, considering the result.
Stalker heard that Eamon had a bit of a sore head the next day – anything less would have been a derogation of duty.
