It was the second sunniest July in a century in the UK according to the Met Office, and the sunny July broke temperature records at weather stations across the country in Ireland, according to Met Éireann.
The summer segued into a wettish August, something we're told to expect more of in the years ahead. Here's hoping we get an Indian summer spell before the grip of winter tightens around us once again.
