AVERAGE FARM INCOME

The average farm income in the South was €25,483 last year, according to Teagasc.

The figure marks a fall in the average income of 15% since last year. It kind of sums up the trend in incomes across the board.

IFA president John Bryan said farm incomes would be hit further this year because of the disastrous weather conditions.

“Without an immediate and prolonged improvement in the weather, many farmers will be facing an income crisis later this year.”
