The editorial in the latest edition of the Mushroom Business magazine, edition 57, dealt with the fallout over the investigation into working conditions in mushroom production units in The Netherlands.
There was a whole media frenzy by the sound of it. In the piece the editor writes: “ All this commotion was caused by a TV programme that ‘investigated’ the ‘medieval working conditions ‘apparently rife in the Dutch mushroom sector (read: PrimeChamp).”
He continues: “And just a few days ago Ronnie Wilson CEO of the internationally operating Irish Mushroom giant, said he had ‘seen absolutely no evidence to show that PrimeChamp was involved in dubious practices’.
It’s seems as if the controversy is still rumbling on over there.
