According to a report in the Irish Times there was a growing interest in Irish mushrooms abroad last year – with the UK market growing by 4 per cent, both in value and volume.
Brown mushrooms and value packs of mushrooms showed the greatest growth.
Irish food and drink exports to the UK were worth €3.8 billion last year.
The UK retail food market is worth £100 billion – that’s massive compared to the Irish retail food market of €8 billion.
