At first sight Stalker was a bit amused at the title of the booklet Who Made My Breakfast?.
But following on from the on-going horse meat scandal the idea of Who Made My Dinner might be the next booklet out.
The whole meat saga and processed meals debacle may have a silver lining for the mushroom industry – if there’s one fresh item that is promoted as being a substitute for beef, then mushrooms is it.
Stalker wonders if we’ll see a tangential spike in demand for the fresh produce in the wake of the meat scandal. Or maybe people will just be heading to the local butchers (if they have one anymore?) and start buying meat in a more traditional manner again.
The latest fad food regimen coming in from the USA is called a plant–based diet. Endorsed by the likes of Bill Clinton and Michelle Pfeiffer, it’s basically vegeteranism for the good of your health.
No doubt it will be all the rage here soon. It can only be good for the mushroom industry.
