There was a report from Germany at the end of October about the state of the fresh produce being sold in some supermarkets there.
Basically an off-the-cuff inspection by a television programme turned up only one store that was selling fresh mushrooms in a fit state.
It’s a pretty poor performance when the shops fail the final test when the mushroom producers go to so much trouble to supply the perfect produce. No doubt someone somewhere will cop a load of flak.
Let’s hope the past-its-best produce debacle isn’t replicated elsewhere.
