There are always the environmental downsides, and the fact that large global oil corporations tend to be the winners in the making money out of it side of things.
There is always the hope of employment created and oil revenues going to the government.
But the analysts seem to have overlooked the possibility that Cork could declare itself independent of the rest of Ireland!
