The interconnectedness of things was once more highlighted by the closure of Monaghan Poultry due to breaches of the EU regulations on fresh poultry meat. The closure has had a knock-on effect in the mushroom world due to the consequent fall off in the supply of chicken litter from that company. Composters are having to source this particular raw material from other suppliers. Luckily there is no shortage of chicken houses in the country, they seem to be going up all over the place. So there should then be no need for any price hikes, as there ought to be plenty of chicken sh*t to go about.
