Grower Joan Bleakley from near Lisburn in Co.Antrim has a lot on her plate at the moment. Joan has been dabbling in the art of breeding cattle and her experimentation has come to fruition this month.
After allowing a few heifers to be "serviced" by an Aberdeen Angus (belonging to a certain Mr Gildernew), the progeny is positively hoofing out. Calving has taken over from the exigencies of the mushroom growing.
Stalker is sure that Joan will need a wee holiday away from it all, after the stresses and strains that are attendant with multiple births.
