AST Totten Ltd has started manufacturing replacement air and compost sensors for all computerised mushroom control systems used in Ireland.
The thermistor used is identical to the original used and the quality of the sensors will be at least equivalent to the original. Stainless steel grade 316 is used in all sensors.
AST have test results on the original thermistors for comparison and these are available on request.
The good news is that prices are much lower than those currently charged - starting at €20 for air and €35 for compost. The Totten plan is that Irish growers will no longer have to pay high prices for quality replacement sensors.
