Stalker was chatting to a grower from the deep south, so to speak, at the start of the month.
The grower was noting the contraction in the industry, giving as example the numbers in Tipp – having dwindled from 32 some years ago, to only 9 now.
Stalker would adjudge that the industry contraction on the national scale has been even sharper than the local Tipp contraction. The grower also found time to bemoan the northern bias in the magazine. Stalker was quick to point out that the magazine is northern based – however there is no intention of any bias. Simply put, the contraction in the industry has also lead to a contraction in the sources and contacts that supply information into the maw that is The Mushroom People.
