A mushroom shaped house built 40 years ago has been sold for just under the one million dollars that was being sought for it.
The mushroom house in Perinton, N.Y. is regarded as a whimsical house, custom built in 1971 to resemble a stem of Queen Anne's lace.
At some point, however, it became nicknamed the mushroom house. One suspects you needn’t be asking JFM to build one for you. There is a video guided tour of the quirky domicile on our website.
The 4,168 square foot house has three bedrooms and three bathrooms spread over an interconnected network of five pods located on a hill.
