Carl Bozicek who died this month was a regular contributor to The Mushroom People down the years.
Aside from the technical pieces he wrote for the magazine, he will also be fondly remembered for the numerous April fool pieces he submitted.
Stalker is reminded of the militant Vegetable Liberation Front who were conjured up one year to strike fear into the heart of growers everywhere. And there was the gem about setting up a reality television show on an Irish mushroom farm – so plausible in this day and age.
There were numerous others, all testament to the man’s good humour, a seam that also livened up his technical articles.
Stalker likes to think that Carl is just away off to do some fishing, one of his favourite things, with the fisher of men.
