There were hundreds of posters bedecking all routes into Middletown, and black and white flags fluttering in the breeze throughout Middletown this month, celebrating the achievement of Middletown Na Fianna hurling team who reached  the AIB GAA Hurling All Ireland Intermediate Club Championship Final.  One of the team mentor managers is none other than Eamonn Long at Reen Compost.

The club fared well throughout their final, only to lose in the dying minutes against a resurgent Mt Leinster Rangers team.

Congratulations are in order for a team that pushed the boundaries of their club hurling, and for the management quartet who have put in a lot of intensive work with the team over the long season.
