Stalker was amused by a local restaurant being reviewed in the national press recently.
The poor restaurant, Made In Belfast got a quite damming and slamming review in the Observer magazine. The blurb read – “Made In Belfast goes out of its way to make diners feel relaxed and comfortable – until the food arrives...” Ouch!
From the photos it does look like a lovely place to go for a nosh up. What caught Stalker’s eye in the review was the fact that the restaurant pushes the idea that it is using local produce. Irish chicken, Irish butter, Irish goat’s cheese, Irish bacon, Irish beetroot and Irish mushrooms. The repetitive use of the word Irish on the menu got up the English reviewer’s nose. Funny that.
Anyways, they’re using local produce and local mushrooms, so they well deserve our local support!
