MET BET - DON’T FRET

So the UK Met Office has stuck its neck out and has said do not expect a big freeze this Christmas.

As someone pointed out, these are the guys who predicted the “barbecue summer”.

They expect average temperatures in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Doesn’t seem to be any pointers as to what lies beyond that though.

Independent forecasters anticipate a “Siberian December with temperatures dropping as low as minus 15C. So the battle is on to see who is right.

As Mark Twain put it – everybody complains about the weather but nobody does anything about it.

The Met Office is also now going to release scientific raw data on which it makes its judgments.

Maybe we’ll all be forecasting before too long!
