The main mushroom man from Poland, Dr Kristian Szudyga, was more than happy to hear the news that the Russians had rescinded their ban on raw vegetables from all EU countries.
Poland had somehow got embroiled in an extension of the import ban, and the mushroom sector there was getting hit hard, apparently.
As he posted on themushroompeople.com on the 6th of August – “Yes, it is true. Now it is ok. Polish mushroom men.” A happy man indeed!
The report of the lifting of the ban was official and in the papers a few days later.
Dr Szudyga must have a good inside track there both at the EU level and from sources, to get the news before everyone else.
