Included in the mushroom notes under the heading 'Superior Strains' in last months edition, reference was made to the necessity to use fast selling strains. Valid points were included about the wisdom of using fast moving strains.
Included among the list of fast selling strains must however be Amycel Delta and Amycel 2500. Delta is the fastest growing strain on the market and in the phase 2 sector is possibly the biggest seller. 2500 is also extremely popular and has a loyal following. 2500 has always big usage in the summer period. Growers would be wise to take these facts on board in spawn selection. In addition Amycel are noted for their tight stock control and fast turnover from their depot in Drogheda. Delta is also being used extensively among Dutch shelf growers.
