Stalker was amused by the front page news about the re-instigation of the “penance” of abstaining from meat on a Friday for Catholics in Britain.
British Catholics are to be asked to resume the practice from September. Immediately the fishing industry in GB sees a good thing.
Anything that promotes meat alternatives, of which fish is in the prime spot, has got to be good for business. Maybe the mushroom industry could capitalise on the meat free Friday theme also.
Although Stalker noted that the Irish fish industry was not as upbeat about the penance aspect of the Church’s ordinance.
Maybe we don’t want mushrooms to become associated with the notion of penitence either.
