Stalker spotted a book review which caught the eye this month.
The review was in the thriller section – the book is entitled Spiral.
There was a bloody and hard-hitting detective series on telly recently from France entitled Spiral, but it wasn’t that.
The book is by a physics professor Paul Mc Euen, and sounds vaguely sci-fi as much as thriller fiction.
The thing that caught Stalker’s eye was the plot, about saving the world with fungus. Sounds totally out there and off the beaten track. But as this writer is being touted as the new Michael Crichton – who wrote some of the biggest blockbusters films, think Jurassic Park, and he was behind ER on TV too – then this new writer may well be worth reading.
The book publisher is Headline and the price for the tome is £12.99.
