Stalker notes that investment in the mushroom industry worldwide is healthy and even strong.
Noteworthy of course is the new investment at O'Neill Mushrooms of Newtownhamilton, in Co. Armagh - totalling £206k. This is quite an major sum of money in these testing econmic times.
Elsewhere in the world there were a few other substantial investments reported this past few weeks.
Note the $45 million recent investment in New Zealand at Meadow Mushrooms. Also check out the near 1 billion Yuan investment in Henan, China by Starway Bio-technology .
The Chinese currency conversion works out in sterling at around to £94 million or in euro currency at €108 million.
The New Zealand conversion rate works out at about €23 million or in sterling, £20 million. These are both massive undertakings. It is a sign of good health in the global mushroom industry, that’s for sure.
As Stalker is sure they don’t say in China “look at yer Yuan!”
