The traditional Ulster fry, the cooked breakfast par excellence, is toast - according to a new report which charts the rise of the healthy breakfast.
Less than one per cent of people have a daily fry up in the UK, down from more than half the population in the 1950s. Nowadays toast, cereal and fruit are all more popular for brekkie than bacon and eggs.
This is of course not good news for mushroom producers as the mushrooms are a staple in the traditional fry.
The fact that mushrooms are regarded now as a healthy food is one reason for optimism.
