Leafing through the last issue of The Mushroom Business of 2010, Stalker was interested to read in the editorial about the efforts to make Dutch mushroom farms as carbon neutral as possible.
The editorial suggested that bed cooling and heating was the way to go to significantly lower energy consumption.
Once again it seems that the Dutch ingenuity is hard at work trying to reduce the carbon footprint of the mushroom industry.
In the recent footage of the Codd Mushrooms farm in Carlow on RTÉ, there was a lot of focus on reducing energy costs and the carbon footprint.
Looks like we’re stepping very rapidly into the new green era where carbon counting is king.
