Well it is official; December was the coldest ever, in Ulster at least.
According to the Met Office it was the coldest since records began for Northern Ireland. With record minus temperatures in Tyrone, officially hitting minus 18.6C, it sure was a chilly one.
The subsequent swing in temperatures by nearly 30 degrees Celsius was also most likely a record too.
Let’s hope the apocryphal predictions of minus 25C for the end of January do not materialise – ever!
