The big freeze managed to make all types of transport hazardous and sometimes hopeless.
After last year’s 42 day freeze most of us are slightly more adept at managing the early freeze this year.
However, one lesson learned last year among the mushroom fraternity was the need to keep access routes as clear as possible for collection and delivery lorries.
As one industry insider noted, lorries for collecting produce were more able than tri-axle compost delivery lorries at negotiating dodgy accesses.
The lesson is, if one wants to secure full entry to a mushroom yard then steps must be taken to ensure that the entrances etc are well and truly cleared.
Otherwise the resulting SNAFU is a major headache for all concerned.
