Prospectors in Co. Armagh have reported that there could be even more gold in the county than previously thought.
Conroy Diamonds and Gold PLC say the site in Clay Lake near Keady could be more loaded with gold than the nearby site at Clontibret in Co Monaghan. The Clontibret site has a reputed one million ounce source.
At today’s prices for gold, which just keeps going up and up, the economic value of the Armagh site is alluring. Gold is trading at over $1300 per troy ounce, compared with $270 per troy ounce 10 years ago. Sounds more lucrative than the mushroom growing.
Stalker is already packing the shovel and pan and heading out to the hills and rivers prospecting.
One was always told that there be gold in them thar hills.
