Stalker was chatting to someone who had been at the recent opening of the Tyholland site in Monaghan last month.

The person said, “Did you know that Monaghan is now the second biggest mushroom producer in the world.”

Indeed not said Stalker. Well apparently so according to Monaghan’s own PR people.

Stalker was a bit sniggeringly amused at the number two status, but also impressed if such is the case.

In the Irish Times top 1,000 companies published at the start of the summer, Monaghan Middlebrook Mushrooms Ltd came in at position 328.
