Economists have been postulating the return of stagflation to the economy, the first time since the early 70s when the term was coined. Stalker noticed that a new term has popped up to describe the rise in food prices, prompted recently by Russian moves on wheat, due to the shortages there, causing a spike in wheat prices. There are fears for rises in the price of bread as Russia bans grain exports, also rising meat prices are contributing to agflation. It is thought the knock-on effect on wheat straw used in mushroom production could have serious implications for UK mushroom growers too. All in all, the idea that prices are going up seems to be the general consensus.
