Henk Van Gerwen will be in Ireland again soon, in his role as consultant to the mushroom industry. Post his antipodean adventure, mentioned last month, Henk will be in both the Republic and Northern Ireland to help advise growers on the intricacies and techniques involved in shelf growing.
Sylvan Ireland will be retaining the services of the specialist to combine with their own two in-house experts, Brendan Burns and Dermot O'Morchoe, in order to provide Irish growers with the best current thinking on the subject. Brendan and Dermot have recently been over in Holland genning up on all aspects of this type of growing system, as more and more growers, especially in the South, have taken to shelf growing.
