Further to last month’s note about jobs in Belmullet, Stalker notes that the Monaghan Mushroom website is carrying a message about the transfer of production from there to Tyholland.
The statement indicates that workers from the Drimbawn facility will have a role to play in the new Monaghan facility at Tyholland or elsewhere in the group’s operations.
Of course geographical mobility is a big factor for all the employees from the Belmullet operation.
Stalker hopes that they all achieve positive outcomes, as is envisaged by the Monaghan management.
The new facility at Tyholland will apparently be the biggest mushroom production unit in Ireland.
It will be the second Dutch–style farm constructed in Ireland. Growing rooms are built with insulated concrete blocks with an overhead loft that houses the complete ventilation system.
State-of-the-art is the term used on the company website, and state of the art is what it is.
