The Republic’s farms minister, Brendan Smith TD, has welcomed the EU proposal to approve €1.3 million in funding towards a €2.6 Bord Bia programme promoting mushrooms in Britain.
Funded by the EU and by Irish and British mushroom producers the More to Mushrooms programme will be run by Bord Bia over a three-year period.
Let’s hope this latest initiative and promotion has the desired effect, with a much needed boost in demand. Here’s hoping.
