The IMGA are organising a trip to the Sylvan factory in Langeais, France. The lucky group who are going will be visiting the R&D, inoculum and spawn facilities at the Sylvan site. Sylvan's new inoculum laboratory, constructed in 1998 at Langeais, France, is the most technologically advanced facility of its type in the world. The testing methods identify even minor defects, enhancing Sylvan's ability to cure quality problems before the spawn is made. Highlights also include, viewing a phase 4 composting facility and investigating some exotic mushroom production. The automated picking hall will no doubt be of special interest too. The trip will be from the 18th to the 20th of April, and there are still some places available. Anyone interested should contact the IMGA. For Stalker though the highlight of the trip would appear to be the wine tastings – dégustations – in the Loire Valley. Un petit soupçon de rouge, monsieur?
