With the volcanic ash clouds from mount E still wreaking havoc in the local and European airspace, there is a mounting sense that this phenomenon is here to stay for a while. Although recently there has been a lull in activity.
Some experts are predicting decades of disruption, especially if other active volcanoes in Iceland decide to blow their stacks too. Other experts of course disagree. We’ll just have to see how it all pans out in the months and years ahead.
