Reading a new book out about high finance and the biggest bet ever won on wall street – Stalker came across some potentially wise words for any business person to heed.
The book, entitled The Greatest Trade Ever: How John Paulson Bet against the markets and made $20 billion, by Gregory Zuckerman, is a forensic look at how one man beat the markets so heavily.
Paulson the titular “hero”/ investment trader, if that is not oxymoronic in these days of financial meltdown, is nicknamed “the undertaker” – apparently alluding to his un-showiness.
His words of wisdom are encapsulated in the maxim: “Watch the downside and the upside will take care of itself.”
Succinct, to the point and easy to remember - Stalker will be trying to remember it from now on.
