Stalker was taken aback at the rapidity with which the Minister for Food and Horticulture in the Republic resigned from office.
After reporting that the Green Party’s Trevor Sargent had been vocal in his support of the Kinsealy Research Centre which is in his constituency, to see that his fall from office was prompted by concern for one of his constituents, was not surprising.
The ex-minister obviously took great pains to do his constituency work with vigour – if only all TDs, MPs and MLAs were as assiduous.
It’s not often one sees a government minister resigning from office to a gallery of sombre silence.
Stalker hopes his ministrations on behalf of the KRC continue unabated.
