Stalker was amused by the terminology employed by the Bord Bia exec’s and PR, in relation to the Marketplace event that took place in Croke Park on February 8th.
“Over 300 international buyers engaged in over 2,800 pre-scheduled meetings, speed dating style, designed to build new business relationships..”
Speed-dating, that ever so noughties phenomenon, was generally regarded as basically a wheeze to make money out of gullible singles or portrayed as a light bit of whimsical fun.
Stalker wonders if there was any ‘meaningful’ relationships were struck up at the Croker event – if so, speed dating is surely a misnomer.
