As mentioned before in this column, there is always a worry over payments to suppliers and contractors being late.
It seems to be the way things are in industry at the moment, and some leeway has to be given for cash flow hold ups and extended credit time having knock on effects within this industry.
Stalker has also heard rumours that some growers are losing some grant monies due to the constrictions imposed from swingeing governmental budgetary cuts. In some cases up to half of grant monies is said to be up for the axe, or rescinded.
If true, this has got to be a body blow to any enterprise and will no doubt have knock on effects within the sector.
The ripple effect of cuts, like the multiplier effect, always means that the magnitude and fall-out from the cut is much more than the original estimator ever imagined.
