Oil prices were hovering near the $80 a barrel mark in early January.

The inexorable rise of petrol prices at the pumps seems to be happening again.

Prices inching upwards, by a few pence or cents every other week, are stealthy and not healthy for the wallet.

With budgetary ‘green’ taxes to enter the mix we can expect little relief form high fuel prices for transport, energy and heating.
