Plans to extract 3.84 million litres of water a day from Lough Neagh to cool the proposed biomass plant run on poultry litter are alarming the local community in Antrim.

The company says that some water will be returned, and that it will not be effluent but clean water.
Water is an emotive issue, as it should be.
Every effort and investigation into the uses and cleanliness of one of the country’s greatest resources should be made to make sure that no damage is done to the ecology of the largest lough in the country, and in these isles.
