Word is that the Greyfriars operation in the UK is hoping to build a new 4.5million unit at its site in Wath North Yorkshire.
The investment will see a new 7,000 sq metre farm being erected near Ripon, leaving the company with one of the most advanced mushroom facility’s in Europe.
Greyfriars expects the farm to produce 68 tonnes of mushrooms a week and hopes the site will be operational by the New Year. The plans have been submitted to Harrogate Borough Council, although Stalker is aware that some opposition to the plans has already been met locally.
No doubt the company will win over any objectors.
Good luck to the company and top man John Smith in all their endeavours over the coming months.
