John Smith the Chairman of Greyfriars has mentioned that he believes that Irish production of fresh mushrooms is set to slip off in the present business cycle.
Funnily enough, on this side of the Irish Sea there seems to be no hint of a slipping off of production.
Note the new enterprises in the South that seem to be going from strength to strength.
Leslie Codd ain’t investing in his new farm in order to decrease production, the same goes for several other producers who have been upgrading and expanding over the past year.
There’ll be plenty of competition from Irish growers over the coming business cycle, that’s for sure.
