Supermarket chain Morrisons has defied the recession by revealing it expected to report annual profits ahead of previous forecasts.

Morrisons said that shoppers were attracted by its fresh produce, keen positioning on price and promotions and its service standards.

That must be music to the ears at Greyfriars in Yorkshire, who supply Morrisons with mushrooms and other fresh produce.
