There was a big contingent of Irish mushroom industry personnel over at the Mushroom Days in Holland at the start of June.
JF McKenna made a big showing, they had their stand there at the trade show. Brendan McKenna and Kieran Murphy were leading the trade mission there along with JFM Operative Leonne McVeigh.
Also spotted at the event was Harte Peat’s tech expert David Austin, checking out all the latest continental style compost and casing methods.
Harte Peat also had a stand at the trade show. Two Northern growers were also espied, Annaghmore Mushrooms’ Eamonn Murray and Phillip Murray - two men with an eye to the latest equipment and technology.
Martin Mc Court of McDon was also spotted on the ground at the trade event - another man keeping a close eye on all the latest methodologies involved in casing and transport.
Old hand Patrick Kernan was observed to be in the fray, chatting with all sorts, rekindling some old ties and meeting and greeting newer contacts.
Other Irish industry notables spotted at the Mushroom Days event included Tommy and Teresa Dillon; Lisa O’ Harte from Harte Peat; Kevin Lynch and Gerard Fegan; Mick O'Neill, Seamus Dobbs, Michael Flanigan and Louise Byrne.
