April 2nd was a big day all over the world it seems.
What with the G20 summit in London and the growers workshop held by Monaghan Mushrooms for its growers, there was plenty going on that day.
The workshop was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Monaghan town, and growers were not spared any level of detail during the event.
Included on the day were marketing sessions, farm management sessions, and an R&D update.
The purpose of the event was ostensibly to give an insight to growers into what the Monaghan operation is all about - the ethos and direction that the company and hence the industry is going in.
There was a case study on the Claremorris site, a walk through in a Monaghan Mushroom packhouse, a quality and technical update, as well as advice on compost and of course the necessary refreshments needed to sustain growers during a long day.
The day was apparently well received by all the growers in attendance. There were apparently no reps from outside the company in attendance - it was truly an in-house event with specially invited guests!
